One Lynchburg resident got a very special birthday surprise. Helen Easter turned 96 years old on Tuesday, March 24 but she’s currently in a precautionary quarantine at Valley View Retirement Community in order to keep all residents safe. But her family didn’t let the situation rain on her parade.
“In times right now anytime you can show your love for your family even if it’s from a distance it’s a wonderful thing to do,” said Danny Rivers, Easter’s great-nephew.
“We look forward to when we can take her out and have a true birthday dinner,” added Phyllis Webb, Helen’s niece.
The family said they are taking Easter out for dinner as soon as the quarantine is lifted.
In addition to her niece and great-nephew, Helen’s 97 year old sister, Doris, joined in the celebration along with staff from Valley View as they sang Happy Birthday and blew her kisses.
